New Lights, More Game Time: Adamson Electrical Upgrades Currumbin Valley State School Tennis Courts
Adamson Electrical replaced ageing lights with professional-grade LED tennis court lighting at Currumbin Valley State School, supporting a facility used by the whole local community.

Some jobs are about more than fixing what's broken — they're about giving a community somewhere better to gather. That's exactly what this one was.
ADAMSON recently completed a lighting upgrade at the tennis courts of Currumbin Valley State School, replacing four old lights with professional-grade Pro Tennis Court Lights. While the courts belong to the school, they're used well beyond school hours — local players, junior squads, and weekend hitters rely on them regularly, which made good lighting less of a nice-to-have and more of a necessity.
Why This Job Mattered
The old lights were never designed for a tennis court. They left uneven spread across the playing surface, with harsh glare in some corners and dim patches in others — not ideal when you're tracking a ball at pace after dark. Swapping them for lighting purpose-built for sports courts means better visibility edge-to-edge, safer play, and more usable hours in the evening when the Gold Coast heat has finally dropped off.
A Project Built on Local Connections
This one came together through the local tennis community itself. Steve Sproule, a local tennis coach who works closely with the courts, arranged for the lighting upgrade after seeing firsthand how much the old setup was letting players down.
On our side, the job was led by Zane Johnson, with oversight from our Electrical Foreman, Bradley Gauld, ensuring the installation met the standard these courts deserved.
It's a project that sits close to home for our team. The Currumbin Valley courts aren't just a school facility — they're used regularly by the wider community, including some of the same families connected to ADAMSON. Supporting a space our own team and their kids actually use made this initiative an easy one to get behind.
The Result
Four new Pro Tennis Court Lights now stand in place of the old high bays, giving the courts even, reliable coverage suited to competitive and casual play alike. It's a small change on paper — four fittings swapped out — but a meaningful one for everyone who steps onto those courts after the sun goes down.
At ADAMSON, we're proud to back initiatives like this. Whether it's a local school, a sports club, or a community facility, we know good lighting can make a real difference to how a space gets used — and who gets to enjoy it.
