Adamson Electrical provides a competitive service to replace your smoke alarms in one simple visit.
We use high-quality photoelectric PSA smoke alarms.
These have a 10 year lithiyam iron battery and wireless communication interconnect. We can also install 240V hardwired interconnect smoke alarms
We charge $160 per alarm including labour to install. This includes checking rental properties at the 6 month interval to meet legal requirements.
After the first year of install, we can subscribe you to our care package of $99 per year to service your smoke alarms every 6 months.
why needed - new legislation
From 1 January 2017, smoke alarms in all dwellings must:
- be photoelectric (AS3786:2014)
- must not contain an ionisation sensor
- be less than 10 years old
- operate when tested
- be interconnected with every other smoke alarm in the dwelling so all activate together.
- in each bedroom
- in hallways which connect bedrooms and the rest of the dwelling
- if there is no hallway, between the bedrooms and other parts of the storey
- if there are no bedrooms on a storey, at least one smoke alarm must be installed in the most likely path of travel to exit the dwelling
